The International Relations Department seeks to establish professional and academic contacts with overseas institutions, with a view to adding value to the Tourism and Hotel Management programmes imparted at our school.
Our centre establishes ties involving collaboration, the exchange of information and ideas as well as setting up projects with our overseas partners so that both students and teaching staff can widen their horizons as far as the international stage in their learning and consolidation as professionals in the tourism sector.
The student exchange programme Socrates-Erasmus reflects this philosophy and is one of the mainstays for the fulfilment of these aims. It is mainly intended for students, but teaching staff may also participate as visiting teachers to other universities, through the teachers' mobility programme.
SOCRATES-ERASMUS EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
Information of the Programme
The aim of the Socrates-Erasmus Programme is to facilitate university student exchange within the European Union.
Students register at their own university (in this case, at EUTDH), but follow study programmes at other universities without paying additional fees.
On completion of an overseas stay, credits corresponding to successfully completed courses are transferred to students' academic records at EUTDH.
Students wishing to participate in the Socrates-Erasmus programme should fulfil the following requirements:
Requirements (these may be subject to change)
To be enrolled at EUTDH during this academic year and to enroll for next year.
To have obtained a number of credits equivalent to the first academic year (61.5) on departure.
To have obtained a minimum average grade of 1(0=fail; 0,5 absent; 1=pass; 2=noteworthy; 3=excellent; 4=outstanding).
To possess a working knowledge of the host university's language for academic affairs.
To agree not to retake subjects abroad for which the student is enrolled at EUTDH.
To take a minimum of 10 credits per semester at the host university.
Students who have applied for financial assistance should not have received it previously.
Financial aspects of the grant
150 euros per month is granted.
You will find more information about other mobility grants on UAB International Office.
For those stays which last the whole academic year, students can apply for residents' financial assistance as outlined in the MEC's financial assistance programme.
No course fees are to be paid at the host university (given that they are paid at EUTDH).
At some host universities, fees are paid for additional language courses.
Students should bear in mind that lodging is slightly more expensive than in the UAB Halls of Residence or in shared student accommodation. In many European countries, the cost of living is nearly double that of our country, which may occasion more living expenses.
