In 2007, to commemorate the 10-years anniversary of the Degree in Tourism at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the work “Strategy and management of tourism in the municipality" was published.

Researchers and lecturers from the University School of Tourism and Hotel Management shared their knowledge and findings in this field. This work was directed by doctors Gerda K. Priestley and Joan Carles Llurdés Coit, and coordinated by the lecturer Albert Vancells.

According to Mr. Francesc Uroz, director of the EUDTH, this publication expected to be “a modest contribution to the improvement of management and orientation about policies and practices, assisting municipalities that are on the road to development with respect to the establishment of one of the mechanisms that foster sustainable development in the future.”
